Bumi Marine is honored to have been invited by the Municipal Mayor of Consolacion, Cebu, to attend the groundbreaking and capsule laying ceremony of the New Cebu International Container Port Project (NCICPP).
We congratulate HJ Shipbuilding & Construction Co., Ltd. and LGU Consolacion on this milestone.
The NCICPP in the Philippines has officially commenced construction, marking a significant advancement in the nation's maritime infrastructure. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on February 5, 2025, in Barangay Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu.
Project Overview:

Location: The port is being developed on a 25-hectare reclaimed area in Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu.

Capacity: Designed to handle two 2,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) vessels simultaneously, the port will feature a 500-meter-long quay wall with a water depth of 12 meters.

Infrastructure: The facility will be equipped with five quay cranes and connected to the mainland via a 300-meter offshore bridge and a 1.365-kilometer inland road.
Project Funding and Timeline:

Cost: The project is estimated at ₱16.93 billion (approximately SGD$411 million).

Completion Date: The port is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2028.
Significance:
The NCICP aims to alleviate congestion at the existing Cebu Base Port, enhancing cargo handling capacity and efficiency. This development is anticipated to bolster Cebu's position as a regional logistics hub, stimulate economic growth, and improve the competitiveness of local industries.

A floating storage tank, commonly referred to as a floating storage unit (FSU) or floating storage and offloading unit (FSO), is used primarily in the oil and gas industry for the following purposes:

They are commonly stationed near oil fields or at sea to store products before they are transported to refineries, distribution centers, or export terminals.

Offloading to Shuttle Tankers: These storage units often serve as an intermediate storage solution where oil or gas is offloaded from production facilities and temporarily stored until shuttle tankers can transport it to its next destination.
